UCD and MU win support under Jean Monnet Programme

University College Dublin (UCD) and Maynooth University (MU) have been successful in the EU Selection 2018 under the Jean Monnet Programme.

UCD has been awarded €99,789 for a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence entitled “New Political Economy of Europe” while MU will receive €50,000 for a Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration.

The Evaluation Committee recommended a total of 232 applications for EU co-funding from total eligible applications of 1227 across the various activities.

Queen’s University of Belfast was also awarded support for a Jean Monnet Network in the area of Comparative Competition Law: the Case of the EU as the Leading Model.

Jean Monnet Activities are designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide. The activities also foster the dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers, in particular with the aim of enhancing governance of EU policies.
