The Erasmus+ National Agency at the HEA is delighted to learn that former Erasmus student, Gary Beecher (below) of Cork Institute of Technology has won 1st Prize in the Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Voice-Piano Competition in Paris.  Pianist Gary shares the honour with his duo-partner Erika Baikoff (below).

Gary is currently in the second year of the Taught MA in Piano Performance at the CIT Cork School of Music, studying with Michael McHale and undertook an Erasmus+ study period at the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2015.

This isn’t Gary’s first prize-winning achievement.  He won the Freemasons’ Musician of the Year award in 2017 and recently added the “Rudolf Jansen Pianist Prize” at the IVC Lied Duo Competition in  the Netherlands to his growing list of accolades.
